Walking Directions
From the Market Square:
- Head towards the Buttermarket, the alleyway alongside the TSB Bank.
- Walk through the Buttermarket towards the Church of St Peter & St Mary.
- Turn right onto Church Walk; the Centre is about 50 yards along on the right-hand side.
From Stowmarket Railway Station:
- Exit the station through the main entrance on platform 2.
- Head through the car park towards Station Road.
- Walk towards the traffic lights
- You will see the church spire of St Peter & St Mary ahead. Cross at the traffic lights and turn left into Church Walk.
- Follow Church Walk, passing the library on your left; the Centre will be straight in front of you.
Getting to Stowmarket
By Road:
- Stowmarket is located on the A14.
- From the West: Exit the A14 at junction 49 and follow the signs to the town centre.
- From the East: Exit the A14 at junction 50 and follow the signs to the town centre.
By Train:
Stowmarket is on the main Norwich to London Liverpool Street train route (via Colchester and Chelmsford), as well as the route to/from Cambridge and Ipswich. The station is just a five-minute walk from the Centre.
By Air:
- The nearest airport is Norwich International Airport, 25 miles north of Stowmarket.
- Cambridge Airport is 35 miles to the west, and London Stansted is just over 60 miles southwest.
- Parking: The John Peel Centre does not offer venue-specific parking; however, you can stop directly outside the venue for passenger drop-off. For longer stays, there are several public and supermarket car parks nearby.
Union Street Car Park: Approximately 0.1 miles away.

All of these car parks are free after 6 PM. Please note that street parking near the Centre is limited, and we do not recommend it.
Public Transport:
The nearest railway station is Stowmarket Railway Station, located about 0.2 miles from the Centre. To reach us from the station:
- Exit through the main entrance on platform 2.
- Walk through the car park towards Station Road.
- Head towards the traffic lights (with the Volkswagen dealership on your left).
- You will see the church spire of St Peter & St Mary ahead. Cross at the traffic lights and turn left into Church Walk.
- Follow Church Walk, passing the Library on your left, and the Centre will be straight ahead.
Arrival Information:
On event evenings, we offer early entrance for disabled customers up to 15 minutes before the doors open. Please check the specific opening time for your event in advance.
