The John Peel Centre for Creative Arts CIC (JPC) is a volunteer-led live music and arts venue based in Stowmarket, Suffolk. John Peel was an influential figure in British music broadcasting and lived locally to us in Great Finborough. Famed for his eclectic taste and dedication to new, emerging music, Peel embodied the DIY ethos of the punk movement, and the centre holds firmly to its mission to nurture and encourage musicians and artists and increase accessibility to the arts for all.
Our programming features new talent alongside established national and international touring artists, delivering a diverse mix of events throughout the year. Live music, comedy, poetry, art, theatre, screenings, and dance, we additionally hire our facilities to the public, community groups, charities, and business users, and welcomed over 10,000 visitors in 2024.
